Product Description

A revitalized classic. This beautifully adorned greige Eames arm shell for Herman Miller is finished in Alexander Girard’s ‘Hounds Tooth’ fabric creating an amazing chair on its dark wood RAR base. The mesmerizing fabric combined with the greige finish of the shell make this particular version of the iconic shell chair a rather unique variant to own.

Sat on the used RAR base, this chair really evokes the era from which it originates with its bold design and comfortable shape. Due to the success of the design, the shape of the shell changed very little since its introduction in 1950 and with the upholstered finishes being made available as early as 1953, the comfortable and versatile dream of the ‘chair for the masses’ really sprang to life.

The combination this chair uses brought together, arguably, two of the most esteemed designers (and friends) of home and office ware from the 1900s and this particular piece displays evokes this with pride.
