Peach Herman Miller Vintage Venice Label Eames DAX Arm Shell Chair
A vintage Venice stamped Herman Miller Eames Peach arm shell is absolutely stunning and looks even better on its original black DAX base. The unique natural patina gives this shell a subtle burst of colour which is accentuated by the stark black of the original DAX base.
Herman Miller moved production of the Eames shells to its Venice factory when they bought out Zenith Plastics to combine the financial and production means of creating the iconic shells. The factory soon became the Eames’s own work-shop, producing many various artistic pieces including the Powers of Ten film.
Being from the Venice factory, this shell is one of the earlier versions of these iconic pieces. The wondrous spider-web of fibres crisscrossing through the shell is a good indication this shell is an early example.
The gorgeous natural patina has given this shell a very unique finish. The shell is in excellent vintage condition.
The original DAX base is in good condition.
The red Venice label on the underside of the shell indicates it is from Herman Miller’s Venice factory.
The Eames’s work is highly coveted. From their artwork to their furniture, their work attracts interest from everywhere. The shells are great investment piece, especially vintage ones. Like many things, their age, factory of origin and even colour can affect the shells’ value.
